Yesterday, together with Koay Teng Hai, Penang State Assemblyman for Pulau Tikus, I paid respects to the family of the deceased Linda Gayathiry Fernandez who was the victim of a car accident.
Members of the deceased’s family informed me that they suspected that Fernandez’s unborn baby was still alive after the accident. It was alleged that her body was left at the mortuary without being attended to.
I have contacted the Health Minister Datuk Liow Tiong Lai, who has promised to investigate.
I have also been informed by Penang State Exco Phee Boon Poh that an inquiry has been instructed.
I hope that this allegation made by the deceased’s family will be fully examined.
