In a letter to His Excellency Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia Tan Sri Da’i Bachtiar, I told His Excellency the following:
“On behalf of the DAP, in my capacity as International Secretary I offer my condolences to the thousands of Indonesians affected by the recent eruption of Mount Merapi in Central java and the tsunami off the Mentawai Islands.
Malaysians unite in solidarity to lend our support over the devastating loss of loved ones, households and community caused by the volcano and tsunami, and we pray for the success of ongoing rescue and restoration efforts.
Our thoughts are with the people of Indonesia during this time of mourning and recovery.”
