Lim Guan Eng Visits Singapore

Penang Chief Minister YAB Lim Guan Eng will lead a delegation of key official to Singapore for a visit from 15th to 16th June 2009.

Lim will be accompanied by YB Liew Chin Tong, MP for Bukit Bendera and Policy Advisor to the Chief Minister, YB Tony Pua, MP for PJ Utara and Director of Invest Penang, Dato’ Lee Kah Choon, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Invest Penang and Julian Candiah, Deputy General Manager of Penang Development Corporation.

This visit is intended to enhance existing ties and establish new contacts with Singaporean businesses and industrialists interested in investing in Penang.

During this visit, the Chief Minister called on the Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry, H.E S Isawaran at 3pm Monday. YAB Lim had previously met with the Singapore Prime Minister during his previous trip to Singapore on 17th April 2009 and also received Singapore Mentor Minister, Lee Kuan Yew when he visited Penang on 13th June 2009. He also will hold business dialogues with the Singapore Manufacturers Federation and Singapore Business Federation and also visiting Sentosa Corporation.

This visit is part of YAB Lim Guan Eng’s efforts strengthen existing business, cultural and tourism ties between Penang and Singapore in face of turbulent economic outlook.
