I wish all Malaysians a very blessed and happy Deepavali. May this special day bring us all closer together in our struggle towards freedom, democracy and justice.
In our multi-ethnic Malaysia, the Festival of Lights – a reminder to all us about the triumph of good over evil – should be celebrated by all regardless class and creed. We share with our Hindu friends and colleagues the quest for fairer and more equitable society.
In this shared nation of ours, we must move beyond mere tolerance to achieve a higher goal of understanding and accepting each other and one another; signifying our hope and quest for a free and democratic Malaysia.
To achieve this, Pakatan Rakyat will stay true to its cause of ensuring fairness, equal opportunities and justice to all. We wish our Hindu brothers and sisters to share with us this hope of ending injustice, unfairness and discrimination.
May this Deepavali bring us joy, peace and harmony.
