
Pakatan to focus on Johor marginal seats

DAP will focus on semi urban seats to win Johor in the next general election, thus Johor DAP chairperson Liew Chin Tong announced yesterday that the coming state convention will be held in Segamat.
This, he said, is to show the importance of Northern Johor in the next general election.
“Not only Northern Johor, but Southern Perak, Sabah and Sarawak will together determine the future of Malaysia,” Liew told a press conference after chairing the second state committee meeting at Kahang yesterday.
Most of the regions consist of semi-urban or rural parliamentary constituencies, in which Pakatan Rakyat have to work hard to win the hearts and minds of the voters.
The meeting, Liew added, resolved that the party should work hard to garner more support from different groups, especially in marginal seats.
Attended by 16 members, the meeting agreed to appoint Jason Josob to fill the last vacancy of the appointed committee members.
The meeting also reaffirmed its support to Dr Boo Cheng Hau to serve as the opposition leader of Johor State Legislative Assembly.
Meanwhile, Liew revealed the lists of seven DAP representatives to the state Pakatan Rakyat committee, 13 heads of bureau and three campaign spokespersons.

Permanent Observers at DAP Johor State Committee Meetings
Sivakumar, SandaraSegaran A/L Arumugam, Yeo Tung Seong (Pekan Nanas State Assemblyman), Liao Cai Tung (Johor Jaya State Assemblywoman), Cheo Yee Haw (Pengkalan Rinting State Assemblyman), Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud and K. Siladass are now invited to be permanent observers at DAP Johor State Committee Meetings effective from 25th January to 31st December 2014.
Co-option of the 20th member of DAP Johor State Committee 2014-2015
Jason Jasob is co-opted as the 20th member of DAP Johor State Committee. Fifteen members of DAP Johor State Committee were elected by members on 12th January 2014 while four others were co-opted on the same day. The DAP Constitution allows for the co-option of five additional members upon of the election of fifteen members.
