
Book on Penang economy on sale via online

A BOOK, entitled ‘Pilot Studies for a New Penang,’ is now on sale through Amazon.com.
The book is a compilation of studies on Penang’s current economic condition and is jointly published by the Socio-Economic & Environmental Research Institute (Seri) and the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies.
The book is part of Seri’s Penang Studies Series which promotes the concept of Penang studies through publications, seminars and digital library.
Many of the book’s chapters were first presented at the Penang Outlook Forum held in June last year.
The contributors of the book include Dr Chan Chee Khoon, Dr Chan Huan Chiang, Dr Francis Hutchinson, Prof Suresh Narayanan, Dr Lim Mah Hui and Dr Wong Poh Kam.
Also present at the book launch in Seri office in Brown Road were the book’s editors Dr Ooi Kee Beng and Dr Goh Ban Lee, Deputy Chief Minister (II) Dr P. Ramasamy and guest of honour Transparency International Malaysia founder Senator Tunku Abdul Aziz Ibrahim.
Earlier in his speech, Bukit Bendera MP Liew Ching Tong said an increasing number of young activists were eager to learn more about rethinking of policies to bring about improvement and changes in the state.
