Johor DAP will do everything to support for Pakatan Harapan partners in GE14
Speech (2) by DAP Johor Chairman and MP for Kluang Liew Chin Tong at Johor DAP Electio7n Workshop (Bengkel Piliharaya DAP Johor) in Batu Pahat on 3rd September 2017
Johor DAP state and grassroots leaders gathered in Batu Pahat today for the 14th General Election workshop to gear up for the most important and toughest election battle ever – the mother of all elections.
Officiated by DAP Parliamentary Leader Sdr Lim Kit Siang, the workshop was attended by Pakatan Harapan state key leaders, PKR’s State Secretary Sdr Khuzan Abu Bakar, Amanah’s State Secretary Sdr Khairuddin Abdul Rahim and Bersatu’s Dr. Zahid Mohd Yusof.
The challenges for Johor DAP in the upcoming election include:
Winning the seats that we contest;
Doing our best to help Pakatan Harapan partners win the seats they would contest; and
Assuring voters of Pakatan Harapan’s collective readiness to govern Johor as a cohesive coalition offering a better policy platform than Barisan Nasional.
We must recognise that voters expect from Johor DAP far more than the expectation of 2013. Johor DAP must show that we are a united and purposeful party resolute to bring change to Johor and Malaysia, as well as connected to the youth.
Pakatan Harapan must convince voters that the next general election is not just about replacing the BN government but also to have a fresh start for Johor and Malaysia.
In this context, we welcome the appointment of DAP Johor Deputy Chairman S. Ramakrishnan as the head of Johor Pakatan Harapan Policy Bureau.
I also want to recognise the contributions of DAP branches in seats that DAP did not contest in 2013 such as Pagoh, Mersing and Simpang Renggam. I would like all DAP leaders at all levels to do everything possible to ensure the victories of Pakatan Harapan parties in seats not contested by DAP.
In the next general election, DAP, PKR, Amanah and Bersatu are in the same boat to swim or sink together in this do-or-die battle for the future of Johor and Malaysia. We are Pakatan Harapan, we are the real deal.
